POSITION SUMMARY

The role supports The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The primary goal is to provide analysis and content support to these teams.

The Office of Research and Development (ORD) is the scientific research arm of EPA, whose leading-edge research helps provide the solid underpinning of science and technology for the Agency. This contract will provide ORD’s Research Centers, and Offices (COs) across the country graphics and media (G&M) support to enhance science and research results. The is includes the following areas:

ORD has four Research Centers:

  • Center for Environmental Measurement & Modeling (CEMM)
  • Center for Computational Toxicology and Exposure (CCTE)
  • Center for Public Health and Environmental Assessment (CPHEA)
  • Center for Environmental Solutions and Emergency Response (CESER)

ORD has four Offices:

  • Assistant Administrator Immediate Office (IOAA)
  • Office of Resource Management (ORM)
  • Office of Science Information Management (OSIM)
  • Office of Science Advisor, Policy & Engagement (OSAPE)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides support in the areas of budget, billing, reporting, and financial management.
  • Provides support in the implementation of quality and other procedures that provide conformity to the requirements of the task order.
  • Recommends methods to optimize the organization's process.
  • Conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation.
  • Must interact, communicate, and present ideas on a daily basis with a variety of personalities
  • Works on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Plans and meets project and production deadlines by prioritizing workload and adapting to changing conditions.
  • Remains up-to-date with industry leading software and technologies.
  • Report to company ownership and leaders at EPA
  • This position performs additional duties as assigned, given adequate guidance and resources.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, LICENSURE, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field and 2 years. This can be a combination of work history and education
  • Demonstrated specialized experience working in a technical environment, especially EPA related or adjacent is a major plus
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Products including older and new versions (e.g., Microsoft Office 2007 (2011/13), MSO365, Spellex for MS office 2007 Scientific Spell Check Software, Silverlight, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, InfoPath)
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others individually, and as part of a team
  • Must be highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines
  • Must demonstrate and maintain a strong work ethic and a good demeanor toward work
  • Full fluency in English
  • A clearance is NOT required. All top candidates will be required to take and pass a background check.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates primarily remotely but will require visits to various EPA offices/centers. See travel information in the Travel section.This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is largely a sedentary role.

TIMELINE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

Estimated Start Date is October 10, 2022. The normal on-site full-time work schedule will consist of 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. local time. Work schedule may vary based on the office/center in need of support.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

All salary and benefits will be discussed during interviews. Salary will be based on commensurate experience. Only full time employees are eligible for benefits programs.

TRAVEL

Travel will be required in certain cases to appear at on-site EPA locations. These locations include but are not limited to: Ada, OK; Athens, GA Cincinnati, OH; Corvallis & Newport, OR; Duluth, MN; Edison, NJ; Gulf Breeze, FL; Narragansett, RI; RTP, NC; and Washington, DC.

25% of total time or less and as business requires. Limited travel may be required to participate in meetings with awarded recipients for site and/or technical visits to provide oversight and program review. Limited travel may also be required to attend professional trainings and/or certifications.

All offers of employment are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check. Background checks will be conducted on all final candidates and on all employees who are promoted, as deemed necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
