Our Elizabethtown, NY location is currently hiring for an Assistant Manager!
Essential Job Functions and Duties:
- Assist the store manager and support the store team members in all day to day store operations:
- Lead by example as a champion of people delivering consistent results in sales, service and profitability through operational excellence.
- Execute profitable operations of the store by coaching team members to drive sales through delivery of excellent customer service.
- Ensure weekly price changes, monthly cycle counts, and loss reports are being completed.
- Utilize location and financial historical data to identify operational opportunities, trends in the market, and execute effective processes.
- Interview, hire, verify documentation, onboard, resolve team member issues, deliver corrective action, and terminate team members in collaboration with the Regional HR Support Team and HR Support Center.
- Train and develop team members to be successful in their role to retain, grow, and build a strong talent bench for our next generation of store leaders.
- Play an active role in all aspects of the business including sales, profit drivers, operational excellence and team member relations.
- Operate a forklift with proper training.
- Perform all tasks as assigned, including but not limited to, cashiering, stocking shelves, receiving merchandise, processing shipments and store stocking, sales, and operating equipment.
- Promote and adhere to all company policies and procedures, OSHA and other safety regulations, and all state mandated regulations.
- Comply and champion Aubuchon’s Core Values at all times.
- Travel less than 10% of the time.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications and Entrance Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities required.
- 1+ years of merchandising and operational experience preferred.
- 1+ years of leadership experience in a retail environment preferred.
- 2+ years of retail experience preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible, minimum 40 hour weekly schedule.
- Ability to interpret sales reporting documents.
- Experience leveraging sales and profit opportunities through shrink management and safety performance.
- Knowledge of Benjamin Moore Paint and paint color matching preferred.
- Strong leadership, customer service, and organizational skills with a positive and professional personality.
- Forklift certification is a plus, you will get certified through training.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Able to function capably in a retail store environment using standard equipment (telephones, cash registers, computers, smartphones, tablets, etc.)
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds. Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to complete store-related physical activities (walking, standing, talking, hearing, twisting, pushing, reaching, seeing, stooping/crouching, smelling, depth perception, identifying colors) as needed.
