Sinai Temple is seeking a rabbi to round out our exceptional clergy team. This individual will contribute to synagogue life in multiple rabbinic capacities, including but not limited to development of micro-communities, planning and implementation learning opportunities for learners of all ages and knowledge levels, and offering of rabbinic support and wisdom at life cycle moments from all stages of life. Additionally, this individual will play an integral role on our Senior Staff team by contributing new ideas, fresh perspectives, and a steady rabbinic presence in helping meet the diverse needs of our members.

Job Description:

• This rabbi will oversee Sinai Temple adult learning including scholar-in-residence programming, Adult B’nai Mitzvah Program, adult learning tracks, community learning programs, and Jewish Holiday Bootcamps. Each congregant will know their menu of adult learning options as designed and implemented by rabbinic team.
• Rabbi will focus on connecting with Sinai Temple’s 20s and 30s demographic in creating Jewish learning and social opportunities for Jews in these age ranges. This rabbi will be one of the clergy leaders for the acclaimed Ted and Hedy Orden and Family Friday Night Live.
• Rabbi will conceptualize, plan, implement, and evaluate special projects as determined by the rabbinic team. Projects may include examples like planning a Shabbaton for empty nesters or designing new holiday initiatives.
• Rabbi rotates life cycles with other Sinai Temple clergy (baby namings, b’nai mitzvah, shiva, funerals, etc.) Rabbi makes pastoral home and hospital visits. Shabbat responsibilities include a rotated presence in Shabbat minyanim. Shabbat presence may include leading one of the Sinai Temple Shabbat minyanim and/or creating/teaching a class after Shabbat services. Rabbi also leads one day of weekly minyan, morning and afternoon. Rabbi is involved in Shabbat and holiday teaching and preaching. Rabbi leads a High Holy Day service. Rabbi has a presence in our religious and day schools.

Job requirements:

• Ordained rabbi from Conservative Seminary
• newly ordained-3 years in the field

Compensation: $120-140K, based on rabbinic experience
