The Associate Director of Career Services is responsible for developing, managing and implementing career development curriculum and programming in order to drive outcomes to improve persistence, graduation rates and career outcomes for MSU students. As part of the Allen Yarnell Center for Student Success the Career & Internship Services team collaborates closely with the efforts of Office of Student Success and The Office of Financial Education.Duties and Responsibilities
Program Development, Execution and Delivery
Developing and executing a design centered co-curricular career development program encompassing major and career exploration, internships, application processes, professional soft-skills and expectations and deportment in the workplace.
Coordinating curriculum and logistics for special events and projects. Events include but are not limited to: Executive Closet, Etiquette Dinner, Career Preparation Workshops & Events, Guest Speakers, Professional Skills Studio workshops,
Serve as the campus liaison to many 3rd party organizations including but not limited too the Washington Center, Peace Corps, Partnership for Public Service, etc.
Develop, implement, and deliver curriculum and materials as related to career development for existing programs including Adventures MSU, MSU 101, US 210, etc. and for faculty who request class presentations.
Manage the Exceed grant to provide stipends and other funding to students who participate in un-paid internship opportunities.
Partner with the Program Managers in the Return-to-Learn, MSU Hilleman Scholars, MT Own, and 1893 programs to provide training to employer sponsored Scholars.
In partnership with the Communications Assistant Director, market Be Career Ready to promote career development to MSU students and key constituent groups.
Supervise and Support Part-time Career Coaches and Program Assistant
Supervise 6 part-time and 1 full-time Career Coaches/Educators who meet with clients to conduct career coaching, resume critiques, practice job interviews and job search appointments.
Ensure service excellence, soundness of practice and program metrics are achieved, and client notes recorded by promoting professional learning communities and staff training and development to improve student outcomes.
Assume leadership role in the Allen Yarnell Center for Student Success as the Associate director of Career Services.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Combination of education and/or applicable experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management or other related field or experience.
Demonstrated experience in program development, management, implementation and delivery assessment.
Demonstrated data analysis, problem-solving, and project management skills. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
Demonstrated experience planning events or programs with multiple constrains and considerations that must be thought-through or planned.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize complex deliverables, have highly technical and informed discussions leading to good decisions and thoughtful outcomes.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and improvement is desired.
Demonstrated competence using personal computers and various software such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, email and internet. Microsoft Office software preferred.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Combination of education and/or applicable experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Project Management or other related field or experience.
Experience with career/professional coaching or training.
Demonstrated experience in coordinating multiple initiatives while working with various constituents bringing project to a successful completion.
Demonstrated experience with developing content and its delivery to various audiences.

Position Special Requirements/Additional Information
This position will require occasional scheduled evening and potential weekend hours to host events and interact with students.
