JOB SUMMARY:

An Audiology Physical Therapy Technician's key role at ENT Institute is to support the Audiologist and Physical Therapist by carrying out routine tasks so that the providers are available for assessing and treating ailments that require a higher level of diagnostic skill. Role will improve access to patient care by increasing the availability of audiological and physical therapy services, increasing productivity by reducing wait times, and enhancing patient satisfaction. The Audiology/Physical Therapy Technician works under the supervision of a licensed audiologist and/or Physical Therapist to assist patients with balance and hearing disorders. He/she may need to perform administrative tasks, in addition to assisting patients with balance and hearing disorders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

The duties and responsibilities assigned to audiology/physical therapy technicians will be based on the training, available supervision and facility needs of the specific work setting. This position will improve access to patient care by increasing productivity, reducing wait times and enhancing patient satisfaction.

* Perform the technical component of Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP) testing and record accurate findings.

* Manage schedule for the Physical Therapy department. This may include calling and scheduling patients, returning patient calls, managing physical therapy correspondence, managing cancellation list, ensuring patients do not go past authorized visits, and verifying insurance for same-day add ons.

* Greet physical therapy patients at check in and assist therapists as needed. Assure they are checked in and in place for the scheduled appointment.

* Verify coverage/eligibility for any insurance when scheduling appointments for the Physical Therapy department.

* Check each new patient’s chart to make sure there is a valid order in the chart and they are scheduled with the appropriate provider.

* Assist the audiology department in administrative and clerical support functions including working with Sycle hearing aid software and Excel.

* Assist audiologist with Lyric hearing aid fittings as needed along with helping with hearing aid walk-in patients.

* Attend and assist at local health fairs for audiology and physical therapy and other various marketing efforts.

* Develop customer service solutions.

* Work alongside ENT Institute staff to provide excellence in patient care.

* Tech will be required to obtain any required licensure to perform duties as described.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree is required.

EXPERIENCE:

1-3 years of job related experience and Athena EMR experience is preferred.

6. Requires proficiency in working with a PC, the Internet, and MS Windows. 7. Requires a good understanding of the current Medicare Compliance, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

1. Combination of sitting, standing, bending, light lifting and walking. 2. Requires a full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

3. Requires corrected vision and hearing to a normal range.

4. Requires the ability to manage stressful situations.

5. Occasional stress from varying demands.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

1. Restriction of personal phone calls to break and lunch periods. 2. Overtime as authorized by supervisor.

3. Attendance at daily company staff meeting.

4. Attendance at training sessions.

5. Adherence to practice policies, procedures and protocol.
