OPPORTUNITY
The Restorative Practices Coordinator is responsible for building the capacity of school site leadership through coaching, supporting and holding accountable GDPSC staff to effectively implement a continuum of restorative practices and systems to reduce the rate of suspensions and expulsions. This role includes the training and coaching of a team of student support specialists that directly support the implementation of restorative practices with students on school campuses.

This is a Central Office position which will require travel to school sites. The Restorative Practices Coordinator works year-round and is a grant-funded position ending on June 30, 2027.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions (include but are not limited to):
Relationships, Collaboration and Communication
> Build positive relationships with school staff, administration, school support team, students, community partners, and families
> Communicating and working collaboratively with the Senior Director of African American Achievement and Equity and the Education Team
> Communicating and working collaboratively with district authorizers regarding suspension and expulsion data
Supports and Professional Development
Organizational Level
> Develop the organization wide infrastructure and strategy needed to provide and progress monitor the effectiveness of the restorative practices continuum (universal, additional and intensive supports) using data
> Provide professional development, training, and/or presentations to build the capacity of the school site staff in the implementation of restorative practices, both on the preventative and responsive sides of the continuum
> Develop strategies that emphasize prevention (universal support) and whole school implementation of restorative practices.
> Training and coaching groups and individuals to facilitate the continuum of restorative practices including but not limited to affective statements, non-violent communication, active listening, restorative dialogue, circles (including community building, harm/conflict, re-entry, curriculum, issue/support, etc.)
> Support the reduction of racial disparities in suspensions and expulsions through the use of evidence-based practices
> Documenting, tracking and coordinating the expulsion process and rehabilitation process for students
School Level
> Planning, implementing and documenting individual and small-group coaching cycles with school staff, including modeling, observation, and feedback
> Support schools in their efforts to use restorative practices as a means of suspension prevention
> Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
As an ideal candidate, you:
> have experience as a school administrator (a valid California teaching or counseling credential, and an administrative credential is strongly preferred)
> are formally trained in Restorative Practices
> have experience facilitating restorative practices and social-emotional learning for school stakeholders (i.e., students, families and staff)
> have experience in building a positive school culture and implementing tiered supports for student success
> have experience in coaching adults and leading them to achieve goals
> have a deep understanding of CA Ed Code 48900 regarding suspensions and expulsions
> have experience managing suspension and expulsion protocols including but not limited to in school and out of school suspensions and expulsion hearings
> possess strong facilitation and active listening skills
> have a strong personal commitment to social justice and healing work
> possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills
> have experience developing and facilitating professional development
> are experienced with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Google Suite
> are dependable, humble, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve
> will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer
> will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (submission of proof of vaccination will be required)

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $85,000-$95,000, based on education and experience.
