National Geographic’s Production Department is responsible for producing well over 100 hours of programming per year. The team is seeking a Coordinator to provide overall administrative support to Executives based in Washington D.C. and NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining busy calendars, phone support, updating databases, and collaborating with employees across NatGeo
  • Interact with a wide variety of internal executives and employees and external clients.
  • Coordinate business travel, including trip logistics and itinerary, meeting coordination and remote support
  • Compile and submit Travel & Expense reports
  • Schedule and set up conference calls, teleconferences, and web-based meetings
  • Familiar with video technology conferencing equipment
  • Prepare Power Point and/or Keynote presentations
  • Maintain call logs, contacts, and records of meetings
  • Provide editorial research as requested
  • Generating and distributing PNFs as well as agendas for meetings as needed
  • Mentoring department interns
  • Maintain production unit program lists, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Disseminating documentation on a weekly basis, provide data summaries as required and create presentations with the data as needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments to make sure they have the materials they need to support our programming

Basic Qualifications:

  • Skilled in PowerPoint and/or Keynote, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or other non-linear video editing software, and Photoshop
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage calendar and travel arrangements
  • Ability to assume responsibility, function effectively in team environment or independently, with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Demonstrated proactive problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule with advanced notice, to accommodate overtime as needed
  • Ability to function in an environment with competing and changing priorities
    Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills
  • proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with Final Cut Pro or other editing software, and Photoshop, a plus
  • Knowledge of production and post production process, and able to make editorial suggestions that improve quality of programming

Required Education:

  • B.A. or B.S. Minimum of one year specific in a TV environment.
