Posting Summary
In partnership with industry, academia, government, and community organizations, Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) creates educational programs that prepare the workforce to gain skills and thrive in a competitive landscape. Working closely with the Chief Officer for PACE, this role provides input on strategic initiatives and programmatic priorities. This position serves as a primary liaison between the University and key leaders in both public and private sectors building relationships, assisting in determining workforce development needs, identifying funding sources, aligning educational resources, assisting with new academic program development, and strengthening connections. In collaboration with university partners, the Director identifies and incorporates into strategic planning a range of key factors such as the competitive landscape, regional labor market trends, learner demand, industry and employment trends and works with leadership to synthesize learner opportunities and industry need into compelling strategies. The Director will establish key partnerships to underpin each strategic initiative and develop strategies to effectively implement them. As part of the director’s responsibility to implement strategic initiatives, the director provides strategic leadership, supervision, and oversight of Program Developers and related key indicators for their success. The Director works closely with Chief Officer and the Management Team on all internal and external strategies. Reports to the Chief Officer.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Master’s degree in higher education administration or related field and five years related experience required. Skillful leadership, project management, supervisory, market research, organizational and communications skills required. Demonstrated understanding of corporate/employer partnerships and workforce development needs. Knowledge of higher education philosophy, governance, structure and culture. Strong understanding of financial models and budget expectations. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and access to university resources through continuing and professional education opportunities.
