Position Summary

AFSP, seeks a Director of Program Operations to serve on collaborative interdisciplinary teams, providing expertise related to program planning, development, and implementation; producing high-quality educational programs with partner organizations; lead in process and continuous improvement activities, along with improving program delivery to the National and Chapter partners. Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with Chapter staff and volunteers to support their delivery of programs
  • Direct all aspects of the development, maintenance, and implementation of all partner programs (3rd party programs) to ensure successful program delivery
  • Manage partnerships with all external organizations/consultants, developing goals and strategies for program development and implementation
  • Seek opportunities to proactively partner with chapters to scale program reach
  • Develop and provide information and training to field staff and Chapter leaders related to AFSP’s programs; manage partnerships with staff and co-develop programmatic trainings
  • Oversee programming to develop effective, clear, and easy to understand messages for a variety of audiences, ensure that messaging is research-based and evidence-informed
  • Market and promote AFSP’s programs with external partners, AFSP chapters and at national conferences and meetings
  • Collaborate with intra-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary teams to support internal processes and organizational goals; partner with the Impact Measurement team to evaluate programs
  • Manage all department contracts and budgets
  • Oversee and maintain practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Prepare detailed program plans and communicate progress to partners, including status reports, milestones, deliverable, and opportunities
  • Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders


Requirements

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, diplomacy, critical thinking, verbal/written communication skills
  • Must have ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ plus years of relevant professional experience (e.g., program management, program planning and development, and planning, association, community-based work).
  • Graduate degree in program planning, public health, or a related field preferred
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment and collaborate across multiple areas in order to contribute to the mission
  • Expert level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders and / or Senior Leadership
  • Expert level of contract negotiation and management skills
  • Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate, and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment
  • Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
