ION Solar is looking for an ambitious and qualified IT Helpdesk Engineer. We are seeking an Engineer that will provide on-site and remote IT Support using various channels such as ticket, phone, email, and chat support. Daily tasks will include maintenance of client’s IT environments by providing proactive and reactive support, resolving problems, installing hardware and software, and supporting all client computers, printers, and related equipment. Other tasks include end-user provisioning, software, and hardware troubleshooting, documenting, and performing scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and configurations as needed. You will work with multiple teams organized around specific products or business processes. You’ll be joining a company in a hyper-growth stage.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, be self-motivated, proactive, and possess a friendly demeanor.

What you’ll do:

  • Answers phones and dispatch, monitor, and respond to requests received through the helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Provide basic system administration for both PC and MAC environments
  • Troubleshoot, isolate, and research problems, recommending solutions and escalating to team members when necessary.
  • Document all problems by providing a complete and accurate depiction of issues reported, and their resolutions, into our document management system.
  • Management of user accounts, groups, and computers; including new hire and new computer provisioning.
  • Assign end users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory.
  • Perform basic email administration and troubleshooting; adding or removing users from email systems to include Google Workspace
  • Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades and maintenance as required.
  • Train users on how to utilize various software platforms.
  • Basic network administration – DNS troubleshooting, Basic understanding of TCP/IP Protocol
  • Facilities – setup desks, hang TVs and whiteboards

Qualifications:

  • macOS and Windows
  • Active Directory
  • Understanding of common protocols and services, including DHCP, DNS, FTP(S), HTTP(S), LDAP, SMTP
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Considered a plus:

  • Virtualized experience (VMWare, Citrix, Hyper-V)
  • Network Management & Support
  • Scripting (mainly Python and Bash with some SQL and PowerShell)
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Office365, Salesforce, and Datto

Basic Requirements:

  • Shift: 9am – 6pm or 8am – 5pm
  • After-hours Emergency Support Rotation
  • Occasional After-hours Projects
  • Must be willing to occasionally travel for client projects and implementations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and desire to learn.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Relevant technical experience
  • Must pass a background and drug test.
