Shift: Mon-Fri; 7am-4pm
Overview
Responsible for successfully leading the In-House Maintenance Team in the repair and maintenance of facility structures, systems, equipment and grounds. This position works with Department Managers, Internal resources and a Team of Outside Service Providers to support Operations by delivering exceptional service to our internal and external customers and supporting a culture of continuous improvement through process improvements, best practices, measurement tools and accountability measures.
Responsibilities
- Directly manages and provides oversight for all facility preventive maintenance and reactive repairs, to include all Buildings, Grounds, Systems and Equipment.
- Directly responsible for minimizing downtime, outages, and interruptions to productivity during maintenance activities.
- Conducts Service Provider Performance Audits by engaging, monitoring, and evaluating all maintenance activities conducted by Outside Service Providers to ensure desired results and quality workmanship.
- Develops Scopes of Work and makes recommendations for Service Supplier Selection Process
- Conducts Solicitation of New Vendors, analyzes bids and negotiates agreements with Outside Service Providers
- Manages all Outside Service Providers to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements
- Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and all Saddle Creek policies and procedures regarding safety and compliance.
- Manages approximately 4-6 associates in a 1.3 million sq. foot warehouse.
- Manages team members to execute operational goals and expectations.
- Reviews team performance through frequent feedback and formal performance reviews
- Develops and facilitates associate training and development plans, to include all safety, security and maintenance activities
- Ensures all Safety Data Sheets remain properly updated
- Works closely with the Lakeland Safety Supervisor to develop, support and maintain a safe workplace for all associates
- Performs basic inspections, checks, and audits related to safety, security, and fire and maintenance activities
- Effectively handles all escalations and provides equitable solutions
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- 3-5 years of facilities maintenance experience in a warehousing, manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience directly supervising or managing a team of hourly associates
- Experience developing Service Agreements to include scope development, negotiating, auditing and providing relevant performance measurements to Outside Service Providers
- Experience managing facilities and/or equipment maintenance in a construction, distribution, manufacturing, or a fleet maintenance capacity
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of Local, State and Federal regulations
- Hands-on leader accustomed to participating in maintenance activities with practical experience and a solid mechanical aptitude
- Ability to build strong working relationships with all levels of management team
- Ability to create and lead others in a positive working environment that supports the growth and develop of our associates
- Proven ability to successfully meet deliverables and navigate effectively in a fast paced and challenging environment
- Ability to negotiate, make recommendations and prepare written proposals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate and present information to employees at all levels
- Ability to develop and facilitate training for associates on company safety and compliance policies
- Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet, web-based and job specific software applications
- Solid judgment, sound problem solving and decision making skills
- Must have a proven record of taking initiative and responsibility, both individually and as a member of a team
- Experience writing detailed policies and procedures and process flow documents
- Commitment to Process Improvement and Continuous Quality Improvement
- Must demonstrate collaborative leadership skills to influence and must be able to support change
- Possess good time management and decision-making skills
- Display the ability to prioritize duties in a high-stress environment.
- Ability to travel and stay overnight
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in all environmental conditions
- Available to cover 24/7 on-call duties through rotating on-call schedule
