Bringing LEGO® models to life with light, sound, and movement is something our dedicated team of LEGO Designers, Builders, and Technicians do everyday for LEGOLAND Parks, LEGOLAND Discovery Centers, and more across the world.

Our Merlin Studio in Florida is looking for more dedicated individuals to add to our LEGO Model Designer team. The salary for this role is up to $18.50 dependant on level of skill / experience.

About the Role...

As LEGO Model Designer, you will create world class, awe inspiring, and creative LEGO Models that are safe, buildable, and long lasting. You will be creating the models to a specified brief and budget, working closely with other Designers, Project Designers, Management, Special Effects Technicians, and Model Builders to achieve the best model possible in the parameters given. Key responsibilities include:

• Ensures model designs are consistent with the LEGO brand and are safe for guest interaction.
• Complete understanding and population of model brief, supporting documentation and budgets to aid all departments.
• Design 2D and 3D LEGO models using prototype 3D modelling & LEGO specific software.
• Work with Technical Department to ensure integration of the special effects within the LEGO model.
• Ensures all LEGO models are designed to be safely installed with minimal cost.
• Provide ongoing support to our regional attractions.
• Delivering new and refreshing LEGO scenes and stories whilst following the agreed brief and layout design vision.
• Liaises with the LEGO brick stock team to ensure levels of stock are in line with design of LEGO model.
• Works as part of a global team across different cultures utilising various communication platforms and skills.

About You...

• You will be at least 18 years of age.
• You will have gained experience with 2D & 3D modelling or design.
• Knowledge of production process and/or architectural understandings is a bonus.
• Preferred knowledge of LEGO bricks and LEGO legal building techniques.
• Analytical thinking skills and attention to detail with innovative thinking process that is flexible and open to change.
• Cultural awareness and knowledge for the APAC and Western regions.
• As well as oozing creativity and imagination, you must also be 'into the detail' able to demonstrate excellent time management and organisation skills.
• You must have a great sense of “kid” humor balanced with the ability to problem solve and communicate model needs to your peers.
