Horizon Health – Paris Community Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Paris, Illinois. We have been serving residents of Edgar County since 1968 though community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. Position Summary:
Performs a variety of duties related to maintenance, as directed by the department Manager, in and around the buildings of the hospital in order to provide an environment that is safe and functional to patients, visitors and staff.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities/Accountabilities):

• Performs duties related to equipment preventive maintenance and servicing needs (i.e. filter changing, greasing and oiling, replacing and adjusting drive belts, etc.)
• Does necessary research to obtain the required information for the installation of floor tile, drywall, equipment and repair parts. Orders necessary parts or equipment to make repairs.
• Properly and safety conducts electrical testing and measuring using appropriate test equipment.
• Will assist co-workers and other tradesman with trouble shooting and repairs as needed.
• Replaces and repairs, sinks, toilets and other plumbing fixtures.
• Replaces motors, bearings and drives.
• May work on gasoline powered equipment: i.e. tractors and lawn mowers.
• Able to do minor welding or brazing procedures.
• Is able to perform a variety of emergency procedures related to fire, emergency power and water, and security in a calm, professional, and competent manner.
• Follows up on customer complaints as quickly as possible by identifying steps to correct problem, communicating with coordinator/manager, implementing plan, and providing feedback to customer.
• Maintains behavior at level of professionalism; treats staff, patients and visitors with respect, consideration and dignity.
• Is able to work competently and efficiently with minimal direct supervision.
• The responsibilities listed above are not all-inclusive; other activities may be required in support of the hospital’s goals and objectives.

Position Requirements:*

• High School diploma or GED with vocational training
• Must be able to read and comprehend written instructions, policies and procedures.
• Minimum of three years of maintenance experience
• Must have a sound working knowledge of one or more of the following trades: Electrical, Refrigeration, Plumbing, or HVAC
