The Maintenance Technician is to perform general cleaning and routine maintenance to ensure facilities are in good working order, and perform general maintenance projects as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Responsible for custodial maintenance throughout the plant.
• Responsible for ensuring that the proper tools and supplies are kept in appropriate location and in good condition.
• Responsible for assisting with AIB maintenance and clean up.
• Responsible for communicating maintenance or related issues/concerns to management.
• Responsible for noting/communicating safety issues that result from maintenance issues to management immediately.
• Responsible for the recording of daily activities to the management.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Much of the daily responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician are performed throughout the plant pending project lists and maintenance needs. Daily tasks are also assigned and general custodial maintenance of all facilities including restrooms, kitchen facilities, walkways etc. This is a hands on position which includes minor repair, painting, maintenance, and special projects.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION

This position requires the ability to move among equipment and supplies throughout the entire facility, including loft storage areas. This position requires the ability to bend, lay, stoop, kneel, and stand in and on equipment, as well as the ability to maneuver any raised (catwalk) or lowered (trenched) material or building sites. This position requires the ability to use step-ladders, ladders, and other lift tools. This position requires the ability to lift and use tools and materials whose weight may exceed 35 lbs. There is risk potential for this position which could include strained or sore muscles from strenuous physical activity.
