The National Pork Board is seeking a dynamic member to join our Content Strategy team. The Manager, Stakeholder Content role is responsible for contributing to the National Pork Board’s external digital communications initiatives directed at producers and other industry stakeholders. Specifically, this position will be responsible for developing and distributing effective content for pork industry stakeholders across the Pork Checkoff’s owned social and digital channels.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Community management for the National Pork Board’s Pork Checkoff-focused social media handles (i.e., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube). Includes creating monthly content calendars, developing and scheduling posts in collaboration with subject matter experts and design; audience engagement and community building; and analyzing metrics for the purposes of continuous improvement.
  • Digital content writing, editing, publishing and distribution for the National Pork Board’s website(s) and email targeted at pork industry stakeholders (e.g., porkcheckoff.org, Pork Checkoff news updates, research RFPs, meeting & event campaigns). Manager ensures copy is engaging and digital-friendly and uses approved services and software to publish, distribute and measure effectiveness.
  • Paid digital campaign coordination for special initiatives to drive cross-channel awareness of, or action on, National Pork Board programs or content. Duties include working with external vendors or design as needed, supporting development of campaign content and implementing and monitoring campaigns. Uses Google Analytics and other measurement tools to provide reports and insight on metrics and works collaboratively to find ways to improve content and structure through testing and new initiatives.
  • Support state pork associations with their social and digital communications to local pork industry audiences. Activities may include conducting social audits, making presentations of best practices, supporting geo-targeted digital advertising campaigns and using the Pork Board’s social scheduling software to collaborate on content.
  • Support Communications Team efforts to monitor for risks and opportunities by staying in tune with conversations and concerns about the pork industry expressed in social media, blogs, forums, news sites, etc. Deploy proactive issues management messages in collaboration with Communications Team colleagues through social and digital media as needed.

  • Design and/or coordinate the design of social and digital content. May create simple social graphics using branded templates, for example, or charts/other visuals for website. Duties may also include taking or advising on capture of photo and video for social and digital communication purposes.
Requirements:

Skills, experience, and education needed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or communications or a related field.
  • Strong planning skills and experience with Office 365, WordPress, Google products (i.e. GoogleAds, Google Analytics and Google Data Studio), and as a community manager of social properties. Experience with Salesforce, Pardot, and Khoros is helpful, but not required.
  • Excellent creative copywriting skills and a strong understanding of how to develop content for specific audiences, mediums and channels.
  • One to two years of internal communications, digital marketing and/or web and social media management in a professional work or internship setting, preferably for an agriculture, manufacturing or production-type industry or company.
