Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Job Summary

Applied Rapid Technologies (ART) is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer with a strong understanding of all manufacturing processes utilized at the manufacturing division. Will be responsible for quality control and assurance activities. This position will be the main interface with corporate ISO-9001 activities, including audits, compliance verification, and corrective actions. This position will be responsible for developing, modifying, and maintaining all standard operating procedures utilized throughout the manufacturing division. The manufacturing quality engineer will be the main point of contact for customer and vendor quality organizations. Will complete quality documentation required by customers and will track vendor compliance with our quality management system.

This position will also be involved in general engineering activities that include designing solutions for customer projects, evaluating new technologies, implementing best practices throughout the manufacturing division, and design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) recommendations for customer projects.

Reporting to the VP of Manufacturing.

Specific Responsibilities

• Coordinate quality procedures, instructions, specifications, and standards to ensure conformance to ISO 9001, OSG Quality Management System, and customer specifications.
• Quality control, measuring parts, ensuring measurement devices are calibrated, generating inspection reports, maintain organizational compliance with ISO-9001 standards.
• Understand and be able to educate other team members on the Global Harmonization System.
• Manage supplier commodities and support manufacturing operations.
• Develop/review/maintain Standard Operating Procedures for defined activities within the manufacturing organization.
• Generate inspection reports, conduct root cause analysis of performance failures, coordinate and respond to customer Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR’s).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree - Engineering.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting, personal/educational/work related experience with 3D printers.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Must be able to lift 10kg resin containers 5-10 times per day.

• Manufacturing/industrial workspace. Must be able to move throughout the space and use all equipment. Some equipment requires standing while others require sitting to operate.
• Approximately 60-70% of time will be at a desk.

Travel

• Minimum local travel. Potential visit to customer locations for project meetings.
• Professional development: conferences and tradeshows, 5-10 days per year.
