The Material Planner provides support for the Purchasing and Inventory Management Department. The role will plan, schedule, and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle. The Materials Planner will also determine material requirements from engineering and production schedules and coordinate the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering.

Job Duties:

• Order raw materials, focusing on upcoming special projects
• Check for updates daily to the Production Schedule and Production Plan
• Utilize ERP (NetSuite) to purchase raw materials, and 3rd party components to support upcoming production and sales activity
• Communicate with Sales to determine special projects that require material with longer lead times and order material to coincide with manufacturing start dates and project ship dates
• Communicate with Inventory Manager to maintain inventory levels on hand
• Communicate with suppliers to place, confirm, and track incoming purchased materials
• Alert production leadership of supply disruptions to mitigate scheduling impacts
• Evaluate material consumption and future demands to calculate supplier forecasts
• Collaborate with accounting, receiving, warehousing and other functions to facilitate the expedient processing of material and financial transactions throughout the manufacturing process
• Comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies
• Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a supply chain-related field

• Ability to analyze sales and usage numbers in order to make appropriate production decisions

• Previous experience with NetSuite is a plus

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Customer focused attitude

• Ability to work in a team environment

• APICS certification a plus
