Job description
This position will be filled at either the Media Production/Services Specialist 2/Media Production/Services Specialist 3 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.

Communications and External Affairs (CEA) Division is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Media Production/Services Specialist for the Media Production (CEA-MP) group. As part of the highly skilled and dedicated Deployed Media Services Team, you will provide both photography and video production services for specific organizations. Most of our work involves the production of technical training videos, process documentation photos and videos, and lecture and knowledge capture videos. As a member of our team, you'll be expected to rise to the challenge of capturing photo and video content in some of the lab's most demanding and restrictive locations, and creating informative, accurate and engaging content for our customers.
Media Production/Services Specialist 2 ($67,800 - $107,700)
We are looking for a well-rounded, detail oriented individual who is equally experienced in photography and video production, including both filming and editing. This is a challenging role allowing you to work under limited direction to establish project requirements and plan and produce your own photo and video projects and work directly with customers to help them achieve their multimedia production needs. You will often capture photo and/or video content in areas requiring protective clothing, which provides a challenging production environment for this position.
Media Production/Services Specialist 3 ($81,700 - $133,100)
In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level you would serve as the primary point of contact for customers and lead specific projects and ongoing customer needs. You must possess wide-ranging experience that extends beyond filming and editing to include exceptional project management and customer service skills. You are considered an expert in multimedia production, and your work is accomplished independently, without need for considerable direction. For larger projects, you will coordinate activities of other team personnel. You stay up-to-date on industry trends, processes and equipment that can be incorporated into the team's workflow to enhance services offered to our customers.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Relevant Computer and Software Knowledge
In this role, you will need proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop and After Effects in both PC and MAC operating systems. Experience in Adobe Lightroom is beneficial. Experience with 3D animation software would be an additional benefit. You will need at least basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word.
Photo and Video Equipment Knowledge
In this role, you will need proficiency operating professional DSLR cameras (such as the Nikon D800 series or Canon 5D or 1D X) using a variety of standard, telephoto, wide angle and macro lenses, and professional 4K video cameras (such as the Sony FS7) using interchangeable lenses.
Accountability
Experience working with confidential or proprietary information, classified documents or sensitive information. Ability to define work and oversee the execution of tasks in alignment with organizational objectives, including detailed tracking, regular reporting on progress and accountability for meeting commitments.
Communication Skills
In this role, you will need good written and oral communication skills, problem-solving skills, and customer service and interpersonal skills. You need the ability to work effectively under pressure and balance multiple tasks of varying lengths and priorities both independently and as a member of a team. You will be expected to work on projects involving multiple reviewers which requires tact and good judgement.

To succeed in this role you must have a demonstrated record of punctuality and willingness to go the extra mile for customers which may involve occasional travel and/or irregular hours.

In addition to the requirements outlined above, qualification at the higher level requires:
- Proven success independently leading projects and being the primary point of contact for specific customers.
- Demonstrated ability to design and produce complex graphics and animations (2D or 3D or both).
- Provide extensive input for continuous improvement efforts across Media Services.
- In depth experience planning and creating collaborative audiovisual productions.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills with a proven history of creative problem solving and the ability to effectively provide conflict resolutions.
Education/Experience at lower level: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

- Experience communicating in a science, technology, national security, safety, environmental, or related field and experience translating complex concepts into compelling communications products

Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos, NM. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.
