We are offering a $6k bonus for full time Medical Technologist positions!

The Medical Technologist performs testing, reporting of results, and related duties necessary for the analysis of blood, body fluid, and other samples in the Blood Bank, Chemistry Laboratory, Hematology Laboratory, and/or Microbiology Laboratory. Performs troubleshooting and resolves quality issues.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performs, evaluates, interprets, correlates, and validates the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results on a variety of biological specimens using manual and automated techniques.
• Monitors quality control systems to ensure accuracy.
• Accurately identifies patients and specimens per policy.
• Ensures specimen appropriateness and maintains specimen integrity throughout collection, testing and storage.
• Efficiently and accurately reports results, including timely communication of stat and critical results, with appropriate documentation in the LIS call queue.
• Assists with inventory management by documenting open dates on supplies as required by policy, and promptly notifying supervisor of low inventory.
• Maintains an organized work environment to enable another to take over job duties, including stocking of bench supplies prior to shift end.
• Demonstrates proficient use of the Laboratory Information System.
• Prepares and maintains analytical equipment in proper operating condition in accordance with specific policy and procedure, and follows Lab guidelines when test systems are not within acceptable limits.
• Participates in teaching students and training of new staff members.

Requirements:

• MLS/MLT Associates Degree Required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Biology & Microbiology degrees
• 3-5 years of experience preferred
• ASCP or equivalent certification; Meet minimum qualifications for high complexity testing
