Nurse Research Coordinator
Med-Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (21005300)
The incumbent in this Nurse Research Coordinator position will be responsible for patient screening and enrollment on various study protocols at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and Magee-Women's Hospital, including working with the Principal Investigator to obtain Informed Consent from prospective subjects. Duties will also include monitoring and collecting complete and accurate data on all enrolled patients, retrieving information and verification using clinical data systems and project liaison with study hospital departments and other duties as needed or required. This position requires familiarity with medical terminology, the ability to travel to various surrounding hospitals for data collection, ability to work independently and solve problems in an effective manner, good communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail. The clinical nature of this position involves study assessments to be conducted in the operating room, recovery room, critical care units, and standard post-operative care units.
This position also requires an associates in nursing degree plus six months to one year of experience in a healthcare setting. Previous experience with patient EMAR (Cerner, EPIC) is beneficial but not required. Early morning (5am), evening and weekend shifts are required based on the needs of a study. Overnight shifts are rare, but possible, as new studies are contracted frequently.
Significant relevant years of experience may be substituted for advanced degree requirement.
