The Patient Care Coordinator position is 100% remote.
The Patient Care Coordinator is the primary point person in the delivery of goods and services to our patients on behalf of our physician partners. This position is responsible for the daily delivery schedule for all of our Service Technicians, ensuring driving routes are efficient and that deliveries are made within the promised delivery windows. This role is also the main point of contact for all patient questions regarding equipment, delivery, pickup, billing, and insurance, among other things. The Patient Care Coordinator will also be responsible for communicating with doctors offices in a professional manner.
Role Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for scheduling patient deliveries and pickups for all Service Technicians, maintaining an efficient workflow and an awareness of inventory numbers.
Orients and provides brief education of Durable Medical Equipment to patient/caregiver over the phone.
Relates company policies and procedures as pertain to billing of the patients insurance or workmans compensation claim.
Provides off-hours services as required to serve our customers i.e., rescheduling a missed appointment, scheduling replacements of faulty units, and scheduling of last-minute deliveries when needed.
Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of all Durable Medical Equipment provided by the company.
Protects patients right to privacy per HIPAA requirements.
Maintains patient care database by entering and tracking all new information as it becomes available, verifying findings and reports, and tracking all patient communication and interaction.
Communicates in a professional and respectful manner with office administrators, nurses, doctors, etc.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment in accordance with set procedures.
Contributes to team effort by delivering on defined responsibilities and supporting others as needed.
Actively monitor phone line queue & contacts doctors offices and/or sale representatives for extensions, prescriptions or requested information.
Perform other duties as requested.

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service or equivalent
Experience in healthcare preferred
Ability to take initiative to learn and effectively apply new learnings
Demonstrated ability to confidently engage, guide, and educate customers on product-specific information
Excellent computer skills and highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to show compassion towards others; excellent and effective listening skills
Fluent in English, strong verbal and written communication skills
Fluency in Spanish highly desirable
Demonstrated strength in providing superior customer service
Exceptional relationship building, interpersonal skills and collaborative work style.
Ability to coordinate coverage plan when out on planned PTO or extended leave
Demonstrated ability to successfully perform detail-oriented work
Demonstrated ability to effectively perform work and achieve goals in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment Must feel comfortable asking for and taking payment over the phone for services not covered by insurance
