Procurement Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY This position executes the sourcing process for assigned business areas and administers policies and programs directed towards providing contracted services and materials. Employees in this role prepare simple sourcing agreements containing limited changes to the company's standard terms and conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES for Level I/II/III

LEVEL I

  • Executes the sourcing process for assigned areas
  • Receive, generate, and/or process supplier quotes, statements of work, purchase orders (POs), addendums, and all documentation relevant to procurement; distribute to management and/or applicable corporate departments as needed for review, approval, and storage.
  • Requests Return Material Authorizations (RMA's).
  • Tracks and communicates the status of purchases with internal customers to ensure products are received in a timely manner.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with business units and suppliers with an annual spend of less than $1M
  • Drives down the total cost of ownership and assists in managing the external spend
  • Participates in sourcing data analysis, forecasting, and planning
  • Conducts business dealings with the highest level of integrity and regard for corporate guidelines, legal and environmental regulations
  • Supports developing procurement SOPs
  • Evaluates existing supplier base and evaluate newly qualified vendors.
  • Monitors material consumption and communicates with internal stakeholders for material needs as forecast optional purchasing requirements.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

LEVEL II

  • Able to perform the Level I duties with no oversight
  • Develops and maintains relationships with business units and suppliers with $1M - $3M spend annually
  • Conducts simple negotiations with minimal to no oversight
  • Participates in new sourcing project teams
  • Communicates sourcing strategy, progress, and results to supervision and management
  • Researches and develops new sources of supply
  • Supports in re-engineering as new material evaluation
  • Focuses on sourcing innovative solutions as sustainable friendly materials.
  • Works in conjunction with Level III or Purchasing manager to evaluate Commodity RFPs

LEVEL III

  • Able to perform the Level I & Level II duties with minimal oversight
  • Develops and maintains relationships with business units and suppliers with over $3M annual spend
  • Leads sourcing project teams
  • Recommends sourcing strategy supervision and management
  • Conducts industry analysis and evaluates supplier performance (Supplier scorecards)
  • Analysis of supplier programs and company’s participation
  • Market analysis to identify trends that will impact the business and its goals
  • Participates in sourcing data analysis, forecasting, and planning
  • Contributes to vendor scorecard evaluation
  • Leads RFIs as RFPs to identify key vendors and materials for the business

QUALIFICATIONS
LEVEL I

  • High School Grad/GED
  • Business Experience 3+ Years

LEVEL II

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Intermediate Excel Skills.
  • Previous Category Mgt of $1-3M
  • Procurement Experience 3+ Years
  • Business Experience 5+ Years

LEVEL III

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Previous Category Mgt of over $3M
  • Procurement Experience 5+ Years
  • Business Experience 8+ Years

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to a typical office environment—prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. However, the employee is expected to travel to different locations (within a 50-mile radius distance from the primary location) to interact with employees in multiple processes.

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, overtime, double-time, and holidays throughout our pack season (May to October); this is critical to support the needs of the business and is subject to change.
