Orsman Design (ODI) is an award-winning design firm for interior and landscape lighting. With offices in Southampton, New York and Miami, ODI serves clients throughout the United States and internationally.
We are looking for a self-motivated Project Manager for our New York City studio.
Role and Responsibilities
Plan, direct, and coordinate activities for the design and construction of high-end lighting design on interior architectural and exterior landscape lighting projects. Participate in the conceptual development of a lighting design project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Work in a team with a project coordinator.
- Collaborate with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve all matters related to a lighting design project installation.
- Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the lighting of projects.
- Study job details and plans to determine appropriate installation methods.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress reports.
- Inspect or review projects and construction sites to ensure the correct installation methods and light fixtures locations are being followed.
- Prepare proposals or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, or subcontractors.
- Implement new or modified plans in response to delays, bad weather, or project site emergencies.
- Interpret, present, and explain plans, fixture specifications, and contract terms to representatives of the owner or developer, including administrative staff, workers, or clients.
- Motivate, and direct project coordinators
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in design, architectural or electrical engineering field required, work experience in the lighting industry big plus.

- Project management experience
- Experience working with different design tools (autoCAD)
- Experience working with project management software and tools
- excellent communication skills (internal and client-facing)

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
