Job Summary:

This position provides Mac/PC computer support for faculty, fellows, residents, & department support staff. This will include user communication and follow through on requests, technical support of hardware and applications, and prioritization to resolve requests efficiently. Liaison with UABHS information services department and Imaging Informatics team. Maintain hardware inventories, manage software licenses for supported systems and install/update software/hardware as required to maintain security compliance and current specification. Configure and deploy workstations for diagnostic PACS imaging. Works with Imaging Informatics team on special projects as requested. Prepare instructions and training on various software and hardware as needed. Perform other duties as requested by the Imaging Informatics Director.

Position Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or at least 5 years progressive experience.

Experience: Must have extensive working knowledge of Macintosh and PC environment. Has worked in a help desk/PC support role for at least 3 years where PC builds, application support, and inventory management were a requirement. Experience with tools for centralizing management of Macintosh or PC deployments like SCCM and/or JAMF.

Additional Desirable Qualifications: This position requires a person who possesses the ability to initiate activities independently, with strong organizational skills and critical thinking. This position must also handle multiple objectives with little supervision. Effective communicator with customers, peers, and senior roles demonstrating great listening skills and consistent follow through.
