Cedar Park Med is seeking RNs for The Newark Board of Education, Office of Early Childhood.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and following up with individual child health records (student records will remain onsite in secured location);
• Document and communicate with staff and parents about allergies or other health concerns;
• Collaborate to coordinate care for students, and apply the nursing process using a science-based approach to all student and staff needs; and
• Instruct appropriate staff on medication administration and first aid.
• Attending two (2) Parent Teacher Conferences per school year within the hours of 10:30AM – 5:15PM;
• The school year has 182 days for student contact days. The minimum number of days a nurse will work during the school year is 47 days (1 day per week plus 2 parent conference days, and 1 PowerSchool training) up to a maximum of 200 days as determined and approved by the District. The 200 days will allow a nurse to work 182 student contact days, plus 2 parent conference days, 1 PowerSchool training day, and up to 15 non-student contact days determined by the Office of Early Childhood
• Nurses approved to work any of the 15 non-student contact days will work remotely on documentation/student records. The periods of Christmas and Spring Break are not included in the 15 days as school buildings are closed and administrators will not be available during this period of time.
• Conducting vision, hearing, dental, height and weight screenings of each eligible child upon enrollment in preschool;
• Preparing and Maintaining records pertaining to immunizations, physical examinations and other records necessary for transition to kindergarten;
• Attending one PowerSchool (student electronic record management system) training workshop for entering preschool student health screening and other systems as required; and
• Provide parent education and communication designed to meet the health and social service needs for their children.
