Job description
This is an exceptional opportunity to work close to home in the Behavioral Health Unit of a fast -paced Emergency Department (ER) and to join a Magnet-recognized, community-based hospital that delivers on our promise to provide Complete Connected Care.
As a Behavioral Health Unit Registered Nurse you will care for patients ranging from adolescents to adults with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders. You will work with a team that includes the nursing staff, Mental Health Tech, Emergency Services Providers, and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide high quality compassionate care for patients in crisis.
The Saints campus Emergency Department provides care for Behavioral Health patients in its 24-bed Emergency Department and in the 16-bed secure holding Behavioral Health area.
About Saints Campus Emergency Department, ER:
- 40,000 visits annually
- 24 licensed beds with an Ambulatory Care area
- Certified Stroke Center
- Primary Angioplasty Program with transfer protocol
Our ER uses a multidisciplinary team of staff including: Registered Nurses, ED Techs, Mental Health Techs, Board Certified Emergency Department Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners including Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Respiratory Therapy, Phlebotomy, Radiology and CT Techs and Security staff.
This position will be provide care for Behavioral Health patients, as well as general ED patients.
Hours: 36 hours per week, Evening/Night Shifts
Qualifications ED Saints Campus:
- RN with previous Behavioral Health, Psych experience required.
- BSN preferred, BLS required, ACLS preferred
- CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with proficiency in verbal de-escalation
- ED experience not required
