Purpose:

Resident Care Aides will be employed by this facility in order to assist in maintaining proper resident care. Resident Care Aide will perform nonprofessional direct patient care duties under the supervision of nursing personnel and to assist and maintaining a positive physical, social and psychological environment for the residents.

QUALIFICATIONS/ Essential Job Functions:

• Excellent health and personal hygiene habits.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and promote team concept
• Experience in long term care preferred
• Must be available to work schedule as posted for 24/7 facility needs, including every other weekend and every other Holiday.
• High School Diploma; must be at least eighteen years of age.
• Must be able to perform basic/essential job functions of position.
• Consistent Attendance is required to maintain consistent care for residents.
• Mandatory Overtime is an expectation every staff member must accept (as required) in order to provide adequate staffing for the facility at all times.
• Regular, consistent attendance is essential to meet resident needs
• Other duties as assigned

Physical and Sensory Requirements: Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures, ability to hear and respond to alarms and pages. Ability to write record and document properly. Must communicate effectively with residents, with English as dominant language. Ability to understand and apply training and education; in-services; able to remain calm under stress.

Personal Care Functions: Assist with daily bath, dressing, grooming, dental/oral care, bowel and bladder function, prep for medical tests and exams, eye and ear care and positioning in/out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, etc'

Pay: $13.50 - $14.00 per hour
