SUMMARY:

Yen Press, one of the largest publishers of manga, manhwa, light novels, and original graphic novels in the North American market, is seeking a Sales & Marketing Designer. The Sales & Marketing Designer will be responsible for designing and creating various sales materials, promotional materials, ads, and social media creatives to aid the Sales & Marketing Team in their ongoing efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design of sales materials, such as sell sheets and catalogs, to aid Yen Press sales partners.
• Design of physical promotional materials, such as posters and buttons, to be used at in-person conventions or by key Yen Press partners, such as independent bookstores, comic stores, and libraries.
• Design of large-scale banners and booth graphics used to complement Yen Press and its various properties at consumer-facing conventions and B2B trade shows.
• Design print and digital ads used in trade and consumer magazines, newsletters, and websites.
• Design of templated and custom social media creatives to promote Yen Press and JY titles and properties on a variety of social media channels.
• Design of in-house ads and creatives, such as back-of-book ads and website banners.
• Facilitate the in-house approval process that involves members of the Yen Press Sales & Marketing Team, Design Team, and Editorial Team.
• Assist the Sales & Marketing Team in general tasks (e.g. staffing a convention booth) as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Three to four years of professional design and marketing experience, preferably working in the publishing industry, graphic novel industry, or entertainment industry.
• Strong knowledge of typography, illustration, color, bitmap, and full-color printing.
• Expertise in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Type Manager, Suitcase, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and Adobe After Effects.
• Experience designing materials for print and knowledge of print production required.
• Experience with motion graphics and video editing is a plus.
• Ability to read community and marketing trends within the manga, anime, webcomic, and graphic novel space strongly preferred.
• Ability to take direction yet maintain intuition.
• Ability to attend to details and juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Passion and interest in manga, anime, webcomics, and graphic novels are strongly preferred.
• Ability to coordinate with freelancers on a variety of projects.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
