Job Title: Security Operations Officer

Job Summary

As a Security Operations Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the overall security and safety of the organization. In this position, you will play a critical role in assessing threats and monitoring our security operations in real-time. This position will be a hybrid of command center operations and mobile patrol officer responsibilities working in teams on each shift. You will join a dynamic and growing team that is responsible for responding to security incidents, gathering intelligence, and developing reports for upper management. A Security Operations Officer must possess excellent critical thinking and communication skills. Note: This is an unarmed position.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Command Center

• Ensures effective response to emergency and non-emergency situations, timely completion of reports and other requirements as directed by the Chief Security Officer
• Employ the use of various systems software, security, and communications equipment
• Notifies and communicates with the Chief Security Officer, Chief Information officer and other senior personnel as required to ensure a common operating picture of the watch
• Monitor security applications and triage alerts, escalating where appropriate
• Investigate and resolve incidents to contain and remove security threats as safely and quickly as possible
• Create and continue to develop use cases using threat intelligence information and lessons learned from any incidents and alerts

Mobile Patrol Officer

*Mobile Patrol Duty is performed in company owned security vehicle. This vehicle is fully equipped with graphics, LED Security Lights, GPS Tracking, Dash Camera, and mobile phone.

• Patrol through multiple properties around the command center and beyond
• Inspection of parking lots and garages of the property at a speed of approximately 5-7mph
• Vehicle windows down and radio OFF to hear outside noise or call for help
• Light Bar lights on while on Patrol
• Flashlight on and in use shining throughout the property at suspicious locations
• Eyes looking at various locations where there may be potential for crime
• Hazard Lights flashing throughout patrol
• The officer should be attentive, focused, and free from any unnecessary distractions

The officer will be looking for activities including but not limited to:

• Suspicious Activity
• Loitering
• Unauthorized vehicles
• People trespassing
• Trash out of place
• Other items that are not normal to the property
• Door Check: At the time where all employees have left, the officer is expected to check every door of the location to ensure that the last employee is locked up and has set all necessary alarms.
• Lighting, Trash, and Security Assessments: It is expected of officers during the patrols to provide if applicable; lighting, trash, and security assessments. These consist of notifying the upper management via reports of all necessary lights that are out, the trash that is not disposed of properly, and any potential areas that there could be a breach of security (no fence, hole in fence, overgrown trees, or bushes to hide in etc.).
• Reporting: During every tour of the property, it is imperative that the officers report information in detail of all that they saw during the patrol.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Security Guard, or equivalent, experience required
• Understanding of security operations & FEMA ICS/Watch officer training a plus
• 1+ year of Dispatching, CCTV Operations, or Information Technology experience a plus
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Pass pre-employment background check and remain compliant with all legal and company regulations for working in the cannabis industry
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
• Must be flexible and possess the ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, sometimes stressful, environment
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deal with all levels of personnel in a professional and effective manner
• Team player that participates in problem solving with enthusiasm and a positive attitude
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience and a clean driving record
• Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at company specific sites and experience with Microsoft 360 software
• Ability to handle crisis situations at the company sites, calmly and efficiently
• Able to:
• Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow, or heat
• Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
• Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
• Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time

• 12-Hour Overnight Shifts
• Holidays
• Afternoon and Night shifts
• Overtime
• Weekend availability
