The Senior Margin Analyst will be responsible for the reconciliation of Independent Service Operators (ISO) power settlement costs to customer invoiced charges as well as margin reporting in one of the five retail markets (ERCOT, PJM, NEISO, NYISO, MISO). Ensure all pass-through costs are collected. Function as market liaison for all escalated issues pertaining to the market.


This role will report to the Director of Settlements and sits in Houston, TX. This role is eligible for the hybrid work-from-home and in-office work schedule.


What you’ll do:

Responsible for ISO settlements and invoicing control in one of five retail markets (ERCOT, PJM, NEISO, NYISO, MISO)

Reconcile ISO settlement costs to customer invoiced revenues in retail market and report margin for the assigned market

Populate pass-through billing curves to ensure all pass-through costs are collected

Prepare monthly revenue and cost variance analyses (Estimates and Actuals) for assigned market and must be available for monthly close activities at the beginning of each month

Maintain market knowledge and stay apprised of regulatory issues pertaining to assigned market

Provide analysis and supporting documents for all prior period adjustments and other reconciliations as required. Follow through on variances and recommend future action to responsible department

Coordinate escalated customer invoicing issues in assigned market with 3rd Party billing vendor and sales representatives

Responsible for knowledge of the Retail Product Catalog and the interpretation of complex retail contracts

Assist Sales, Billing, and other internal groups on inquiries as needed

Acts as a team member with all employees of ENGIE North America staff

Complies with all ENGIE North America policies and procedures


What you bring:

Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in accounting or finance

Minimum of 3 years of retail or wholesale power experience

Prior ISO Power Settlement experience a plus

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Toad (SQL), Oracle LPSS, Siebel

Lodestar experience a plus

Quantitative data and modeling skills

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Exceptional attention to detail and problem solving skills

Customer service attitude

  • Salary Range: $69,275.00 – $176,670.00 USD, annually
  • Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
