Job description

Broadway Services is seeking a Shuttle Dispatcher. This position is responsible for receiving and dispatching calls for shuttle services at requested pick up and drop off locations. In addition, this position will monitor the JHMI transit routes, charter trips and assignment of vehicles for all drivers.

Essential Functions:

• Receives, relays and transmit routine calls from drivers and clients
• Answer and receives incoming telephone calls requesting shuttle transportation
• Maintains an accurate shuttle log
• Monitors the video system of transit routes and charter trips
• Acts as a customer service representative – helping customers who are in need of information and assistance (i.e. directions, shuttle schedules, minor complaints)
• Carries out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the work site

Qualifications:

• Must have two (2) years of general work experience
• High School diploma, GED equivalent or extensive work experience
• Acceptable criminal background history
• Successful completion of health screening examination
• Successful completion of the DOT medical examination
• Continual ability to pass random drug testing

Job Specific Qualifications:

• The ability to type at least 20 wpm
• Must be computer literate with basic knowledge of all Microsoft Office or equivalent programs
• Previous experience in monitoring systems and dispatching
• Must have knowledge of two way working radio communication equipment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to comprehend verbal and written directions
• Able to work flexible schedules to include overtime, weekends and holidays
• Strong customer service skills – Must have friendly, courteous and smiling nature. Must be able to handle hostile and stressful situations with poise and tact at all times

Physical Qualifications:

• Ability to do considerable walking and prolonged sitting and standing for entire shift
• Lifting requirements of 50lbs minimum
• Ability to bend, squat, stoop and reach
