Education: Required – Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services or social services
Preferred – Master’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services field
Experience:
Required – with master’s Degree - At least 3 years of progressive employment experience in these fields that demonstrate supervisory and case management experience OR with bachelor’s degree – At least 5 years of progressive employment experience in these fields that demonstrate supervisory and case management experience.
Preferred – related experience and/or training in a related human service, behavioral health and/or residential treatment.

Summary: The Training Coordinator facilitates a comprehensive training program for newly hired and experienced staff in accordance with agency policies and procedures and federal and state standards and requirements. To successfully perform this job, the employee may be expected to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990:
Essential Functions:
1. Establish and implement a training strategy and goals for specialized services.
2. Embrace the Sanctuary Model and commit to creating a trauma-informed culture of open communication, nonviolence, emotional intelligence, social learning, shared governance, social responsibility, growth, and change.
3. Deliver group and individual instruction and training covering a range of technical, operational, and/or human services topics.
4. Evaluate effectiveness of training and develop strategies utilizing relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
5. Cooperate with internal departments to identify areas requiring additional training and professional development.
6. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.
7. Develop and continually update program training manuals and materials.
8. Frequently travel from one location to another inclusive of distances greater than 50 miles from home office.
9. Meet all deadlines required by program supervisor and federal partners.
Measurable Deliverables:
1. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
2. Provide staff relevant training that meets agency, licensing and contract requirements and the individual needs of each staff.
3. Consistently provide and update training for Office of Refugee Resettlement care facilities, community services and other stakeholders.
4. Develop, maintain, and distribute a staff training calendar that provides staff numerous opportunities for development including evening and overnight shifts.
5. Maintain a staff-training database that provides monthly and quarterly reports related to training and the impact of training on program practices and outcomes.
6. Maintain personnel files, training records and training certifications.
7. Develop professional relationships with other peers in the field, including private agencies and supporting agencies.
8. Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor.
9. Implement BCFS safety protocols in case of an emergency.
10. Participate in scheduled meetings and team decisions and operations.
11. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
12. Maintain BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in BCFS employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.

1. Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including but not limited to: First Aid CPR Emergency Behavior Intervention Other: ________
2. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.
3. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
4. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
5. Demonstrate the ability to:
a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
b. Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times
c. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position
d. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
6. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Residential Services policies and procedures.
