CTS is hiring an ambitious and driven Business Unit Leader for our Steel facility located in Blue Ash, Ohio. This managerial role plays an integral part in the success and profitability of our steel roll business.
Summary
The Business Unit Leader will be responsible for directing all production activities within the Steel Roll facility, appropriately utilizing all production resources to ensure a safe, efficient, productive & profitable work force. Responsibilities also include involvement in hiring, motivation, development, discipline, terminations and other leadership responsibilities.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Promotes, communicates and facilitates a safe and proactive work culture ensuring compliance with all company safety, environmental and 5S expectations.
  • Coordinates communication between Operations Manager, Customer Service Manager and other Supervisors to optimize schedule to meet delivery requirements.
  • Manages the performance of the operation through coaching, and a data driven approach to analyze and improve.
  • Leads teams creating and maintaining a culture to ensure that quality, safety and production standards are met. Completes annual performance reviews, regular goal reviews and promotes employee development.
  • Supports CTS’ training program, defining development plans for all employees and tracks progress to ensure plans are achieved.
  • Manage overtime, vacation days and personal days to assure compliance to company policies.
  • Builds morale amongst the shop personnel and supporting departments.
  • Manage production area leads to effectively schedule workflow and direction of hourly team to assure customer requirements are met and employees are being developed.
  • Drives lean practices to promote improvements and employee involvement.
  • Supports production best practices, standard work and implements proper training.
  • Analyzes production and cost reports to identify problems or potential areas for cost improvement efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
About You:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Business or Engineering preferred) plus 3 years of experience in Operations (Production); or Certification in Facilities Management or Facilities Engineering plus 5 years' experience in Operations (Production); or 7 years' experience in Operations (Production).
  • Must be a U.S. Person pursuant to ITAR/EAR
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen
Pluses:
  • 3-5 years' experience in the steel or thermal spray industries
