HEAVY TRAVEL POSITION!! Must be able to travel 3 - 4 months at a time!

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

To support new work on Shortlines and Norfolk Southern

• Operate the Yard Testing Vehicle test system.
• Perform manual testing of possible defect location using specified equipment.
• Operate the B-Scan walking stick when required.
• Perform basic routine maintenance on YTV as required.
• Ensure YTV is ready to test each day. Fueled and filled with water prior to testing.
• Complete and fill out Pre-trip forms each day for trailer & YTV.
• Drive the truck and trailer to each testing location (DOT Medical card required)
• Fill out DOT driver logs as required.
• Keep truck, Trailer, and YTV clean inside and out.
• Interact with local customer personnel to ensure test schedule is maintained.
• Interact with customer management as needed.
• Complete reports each day and transmit them by the time required.
• Complete expense reports in a timely manner.
• Communicate with Sperry Field management on a regular basis*
• Check personal company e-mail and car e-mail on a regular basis and respond as required in a timely manner.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: High School Diploma/GED
• Please be aware that this position is over the road
• Experience: Mechanical aptitude is needed
• Must have DOT Medical Card/ Or be willing to get one
• Skills/Qualifications: Ability to work alone without direct supervision. Good organization and problem solving skills.
• Skills/Competencies: Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
