Summary of the Position: Hourly, Part Time position serving youth (ages 8-18) and their families throughout Adams, Broomfield and Weld Counties. Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school and home settings.
The Primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned clients and their families. All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.
Direct advocacy service includes, but is not limited to:
- Facilitating weekly goal-oriented, supportive and educational outings with at-risk youth that are currently part of either the Child Welfare or the Juvenile Justice systems.
- Establishing rapport with at-risk youth as well as their families
- Providing support and guidance to our youth by teaching healthy coping skills and emotional regulation, how to understand and effectively work through trauma, team work and socialization, educational assistance, effective problem solving skills, life skills, resourcefulness, as well as other individualized service goals.
- Managing and documenting case notes for the span of each client's services. Providing well organized and clearly written information.
- Participating in on-going training to provide exceptional services to our youth and families.
- Researching and utilizing local resources to engage families in their communities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A Minimum High School diploma or equivalent and experience with the target population. Associates degree or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- A Valid Driver’s License including automobile insurance that meets company required bodily injury limits, and access to a vehicle.
- High level decision making, problem solving and communication skills. Consistently uses good listening skills to remain informed as well as the ability to give constructive feedback. Ability to appropriately respond under pressure and provide problem solving options.
- Computer Knowledge in word processing software, Internet research and E-Mail. Ability to maintain a high level of record keeping/routine paperwork and provide close attention to detail. Must meet frequent deadlines and be able to work in a remote environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and adapt to a constantly changing work environment.
- Knowledge of community resources a plus.
SUMMARY OF COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Fulfilling work assisting at-risk youth and families, with a flexible schedule.
- $17.00 hourly compensation for billable service delivery working with youth and families .Hourly rate increases with case load. Additional hourly compensation for non-billable work hours including training, supervision, meetings, compensable drive time, and paperwork
- Mileage Reimbursement for transporting youth and families.
- P/T staff are eligible for dental and vision insurance along with an Employee Assistance Program.
