Project Connect Parent Educator - Attleboro CFCE
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, or
related field preferred
2. Experience working with young children and families of various economic, cultural and
educational backgrounds
3. Ability to work independently; schedule flexibility required; own transportation necessary
Reports to: Project Connect CFCE Coordinator
Job Goal: To provide education and support to parents of young children, promote school
readiness, strengthen the school/family connection, and foster a sense of
community.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Complete Parents As Teachers Foundational and Model Implementation training, if
offered
2. Implement monthly home visits to all interested Attleboro families with children birth-5.
Home visits to higher needs families, bi-weekly
3. Facilitate parent/child playgroups and activities that are developmentally appropriate at
the center and in the community
4. Provide parenting workshops and education that focus on a variety of topics including
early literacy, positive discipline, nutrition, etc.
5. Participate in outreach activities to promote the program and recruit new families
6. Administer ASQ, ASQ-SE screenings, help parents understand their child's development
7. Make referrals and connect parents to available resources in the community
8. Provide transition supports among the early childhood mixed delivery system including
the Attleboro Public Schools
9. Participate in professional development to promote personal and professional growth
10. Accept all other reasonable responsibilities
Work Year: Per contract, grant funded
19 hours per week, Monday-Friday, occasional Saturday possible
Playgroups generally scheduled during the morning
We follow the APS calendar with limited summer playgroups
Occasional evening if facilitating a parent education program
Starting Salary: $21-$23 per hour, based upon education
