We are seeking a motivated and energetic part-time 24/7 Security Officer to join our winning team. The 24/7 Security Officer is responsible for upholding the integrity of the facility and professionally correcting any guests, clients, visitors, contractors, and employees acting outside the facility’s safety and security protocols. The 24/7 Security Officers observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and proactively enforce security policies for building.

This position is a part-time security officer, in a 24/7 setting, nominally dedicated to one of the three 8-hour shifts of the 24-hour day: Overnight 12am – 8am / Daytime 8am – 4pm / Evening 4pm – 12am.

Successful applicants generally can commit to one of these shifts and are available for work throughout the week, including weekends and holidays. Responsibilities:
Control Room
  • Dispatch during non-event hours, phone and radio communications
  • Monitor surveillance cameras, access systems, and fire system
  • Report security issues to management or initiate calls for emergency responders
  • Handle Lost & Found property and inquiries during non-event hours
Employee Entrances
  • Screen employees, contractors, vendors and visitors
  • Utilize walk-through metal detectors, x-ray, ID checks
  • Enforce health and safety protocols for entry
Loading Dock
  • Screen and log arriving vehicles
  • Coordinate traffic proceeding to loading dock for delivery or parking
  • Monitor for unauthorized vehicle and foot traffic
Roaming Patrol
  • Patrol interior of arena and exterior surrounding property and parking structures
  • Observe and report status of patrol to Control Room/shift leader for documentation
  • Respond to situations as alerted by Control Room, guests, employees, or teams/clients
  • Assist staff and first responders in emergency situations, including evacuations
  • Gather information for incident reports
Other Duties
  • Support Guest Services during events
  • Provides escorts when needed
  • Assists visitors, vendors, contractors with appropriate access to authorized areas
  • Assist neighborhood security with security matters in the surrounding area
  • Any other duties as directed by management and/or shift leader
Education / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Recent security experience preferred, with a background in the disciplines of: building or property security, loss prevention, asset protection, TSA/airport security, dispatch, law enforcement or corrections, or service in the military
  • Current TX DPS issued Level Two Security License preferred
  • Unlicensed applicants must apply and qualify for a TX DPS license within 14 days from date of hire
  • All applicants are required to submit to fingerprinting and criminal background check.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
Physical Demands / Work Environment
  • Position requires the ability to stand and walk throughout shift
  • Requires the ability to climb steps and stairs on all levels of the building- from 5 to 8.5 inches per row.
  • Requires the ability to sit, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl throughout shift.
  • Position requires the ability to walk, talk, and hear
  • Position requires the ability to pull open heavy doors, lift and /or move up to 25-35 pounds
  • Position could place applicant in situations that may require use of physical force while awaiting backup.
  • Position requires the ability to use hands and fingers to inspect bags, open and close doors, use keys, move stanchions, write reports, and manipulate hand-held wands and radios
  • Ability to use microphone ear piece set to communicate with Dispatch and other necessary parties
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules
  • Position requires ability to see in order to identify safety and security situations
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, during events, the noise level may be loud
  • Position is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and extreme cold
  • Position is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, as well as offensive odors and extreme heat
