and operating in San Ramon, CA under the legal entity of Leica Geosystems Inc., is a product development site for LIDAR-based (point cloud) Reality Capture software. In the US, Leica Geosystems Inc. has more than 300 people employed. The product development team in San Ramon has a size of 35+ employees.
The main product of the San Ramon organization is a significant portion of the Leica Geosystems Reality Capture software portfolio, including the market leading point cloud processing software. It is a family of software modules that provides the widest set of work process options for 3D laser scanning projects in engineering, surveying, construction, public safety, media & entertainment, and related applications.
Objective:
The Data Product Manager will be responsible for the cross-functional development of the Reality Capture Division’s data management and its proprietary file format: the LGS file. They will collaborate with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and third-party integration partners to deliver high-level strategies, tactical decisions, and execution of a roadmap to drive integrated end-to-end solutions powered by smart data management.
We are seeking an individual who can execute a roadmap reflecting a high degree of technical complexity and coordination. You will need to have a high level of technical knowledge including a basic understanding of Data and Storage Management , APIs and SDK’s. While being driven by a passion to create business value for customers, ensure the Reality Capture data format is scalable, versatile, and extensible for current and future use cases.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure data "interoperability" between Leica Reality Capture software products
- Contribute to the strategic vision of the Reality Capture software product portfolio, where all products are connected by a common data model
- Work with stakeholders to fully understand business needs and define the requirements, including identifying new areas of impact through market and user research and collaborating directly with data producers and consumers
- Evangelize the value of the Leica Reality Capture LGS file and associated data management competence project data model for all reality capture use-cases agnostically across market segments and third-party software vendors
- Establish an SDK-based business model for interested integration partners
- Participate in new product development processes and provide solution integration guidance to product development teams.

Education and Experience:
- Proven track record working effectively and successfully with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, product management, engineering, and solution architecture
- Product Management mindset

- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Familiarity with Agile software development processes
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in management information systems, engineering, or similar or comparable experience
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working in data management or product management is preferred
- Experience and Knowledge of Agile processes of software development
- Skilled in business operations or project management is preferred
- Solid technical knowledge and understanding of product/process design.
- Experience in reality capture data processes, and specifically with Leica Geosystems Reality Capture software is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with database design, performance tuning and troubleshooting is a plus
- Database (SQLite) experience a plus.
- Experience with Atlassian’s Jira software is preferred
