Job Description
Job Title: 3rd Shift Inspector / Packer
Shift Hours: 12AM – 8AM (Mon-Fri)
Reports To: Group Leader
Primary Job Function:
Cut plastic extruded parts to required lengths, inspect and package product to ensure orders are processed accurately and on time. Ensure proper material and equipment adjustments are made to keep all finished product within dimensional specification.
Principal Job Duties:
- Be at your assigned work station on time
- Ensure line hoppers are continuously supplied with material – notify Group Leader if there is an issue preventing the loader to supply the hopper
- Keep line clean
- Perform hourly checks and notify line Group Leader if any item is out of spec
- Pack finished product into box/yoke/bundle
- Make boxes, yokes, bundles
- Perform additional tasks as needed
- Operate the Grinding Operation
- Police the production area for garbage and take all garbage to the dumpster as needed and at the end of the shift
- Prepare the proper materials at the end of your shift for the next inspector/packer
- Notify the closest Production Attendant or Process Tech of any line issues requiring adjustment
- Run the line that you are assigned and stay on task
- Clean all equipment on your line every shift (vacuum off extruder, wipe down equipment, vacuum off saw table and line saw)
- Assist with additional projects as assigned by the Group Leader
- Be on your feet for long periods of time
- Occasionally lift over 50 lbs
- Demonstrate safe working habits
- Occasionally drive a forklift
- Follow all instructions given by Line Attendants, Process Technicians and Group Leaders
