Job description

Light Christian Academy is a private Christian school for children that have a parent that has been or is now incarcerated. We are looking for an Academic Advisior to assist the Principal in day-to-day school requirements. The candidate should be knowledgeable in computers, specifically Google Workspace.

Academic Advisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Teachers/Volunteers:

• Training teachers in conjunction with Principal & Head of School on policies, procedures, and curriculum of Little Light SchoolAssisting Principal with weekly teachers’ staff meetings and training time

Stepping in when needed to conduct daily morning meetings
Training or providing training for teachers in continuing education in coordination with Principal

• Checking teachers’ lesson plans weekly, coaching and assisting in areas of need
• Checking teachers’ gradesheets regularly, coaching and assisting in areas of needCommunicating with teachers, students, and Principal on student progress and areas of concern

• Visiting academic classrooms regularly with Principal
• With Principal, formally evaluating classroom teachers on a regular basis, at least twice per year
• Work with Volunteer Coordinator to assign Reading Buddies, TTT volunteers, and Special Tutors

Students:

• Redirecting students that have to be removed from classroom
• Staying with students whose parents are late to pick them up
• Regularly check student online learning progress
• Substitute teaching when needed
• Help managing student enrollment, conferring with Principal about prospective students before completing enrollment

Administrative:

• Helping develop school calendar and class schedules
• Assist Principal with report cards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,000.00 - $38,500.00 per year
