Accountant

The Accountant is responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements, annual budgets, periodic forecasts, variance analyses, and supporting operational planning for Company. Key support of the accounting and finance team in providing accurate financial statements, including monthly reconciliations, account analysis, and trend reviews.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead for the accounting and finance team in coordinating the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Participates in the preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements
  • Coordinates accounting for capital projects across all entities to ensure they are properly capitalized and depreciated for book and tax purposes, to include tracking of assets, disposals, depreciation, and reporting for property taxes for various jurisdictions.
  • Collaborates with management and leadership to develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, operational metrics, and analysis for and the portfolio.
  • Provide visibility on trends based on data analysis and make recommendations that will drive business metrics. Suggests policies to improve accounting accuracy and educates other departments on proper procedure.
  • Study and analyze various business data and financial information, including market trends, sales figures, and inventory control processes.
  • Coordinate with managers and staff to implement financial plans, and establish, develop, and measure improvements in KPIs.
  • Prepares reporting and analysis for executive and operational management.
  • Assist with the annual budget, periodic re-forecasts, and long-range planning processes:
  • Develop budget models and templates – including revenue, cost of sales, overhead expenses, capital projects, balance sheets, cash flow
  • Develop annual labor/benefits projections
  • Assist/support “budget owners” with completion of individual budget submissions
  • Analyze budget submissions, review for reasonableness, explain key variances – create bridges from prior projections/results
  • Assists with treasury management functions, including working capital, short-term investments, banking products and services, and debt management for Company.
  • Assists with the administration of various business software and supports business users with utilization.

  • Functional Knowledge - Financial Management, familiarity with the full accounting cycle, and a general or basic understanding of GAAP. Experience with budgeting, financial analysis and financial modeling - supporting multiple functional areas across the organization (i.e. sales, operations, marketing, HR, IT, etc.)
  • Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field plus two-three years of related experience.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
