Job Description and Qualifications

We are looking to add an Accounting Manager to our finance department. The Accounting Manager will be a key member of the AXS TV and broader Anthem teams, reporting to the Controller. This role is a strategic partner across all company operations (e.g., Programming, Sales, Operations, and Marketing). The right candidate will be someone who is looking to advance quickly in their career looking to develop the skills to manage an accounting department with continued support from the team as the role of the finance department continues to expand. This opportunity is a hybrid opportunity. We’ll be moving into a new office in DTC at the end of the year.

Responsibilities Include

· Assist Controller overseeing the day-to-day management of all aspects of Accounting Operations, including accounts payable / receivable, general ledger management, internal controls, external audits, account reconciliations, cash management;

· Assist in leading month-end close including review and preparation of general ledger entries;

· Support group financial reporting and consolidation on a monthly basis;

· Analyze balance sheet and P&L accounts and review reconciliations;

· Provide detailed variance analysis on P/L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements;

· Identify cost savings and risk mitigation opportunities;

· Assist with management/maintenance of internal control environment, including the safeguarding of assets, development of effective segregation of duties, ensuring that transactions are recorded properly;

· Manage key external relationships including vendors, customers, and contractors;

· Oversee accounts receivable collection activities;

· Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors;

· Manage, mentor, and provide development path for team members, including training, motivating, and addressing performance issues;

· Assist the Controller with monthly financial reviews;

· Serve as a reliable source of analytical and financial thought leadership to company's executive leadership team;

· Perform on-going reporting, analytical projects, and ad-hoc reporting as required;

· Position will work closely with the head office team on areas across the Anthem (head office) family of companies.

Pre-requisites

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum 4-6 years’ relevant experience, including public accounting; CPA required;

· Strong financial acumen, GAAP expertise and analysis, and highly proficient in accounting procedures and best practices;

· Advanced financial modeling and technical skills within a variety of systems - especially Excel. Exposure to Great Plains a plus;

· Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and in a cross functional team environment while building credibility with senior management;

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

· Critical thinker with proven ability to work independently under tight deadlines while juggling multiple priorities;

· Exceptionally well-organized
