Robert Half has an opening for an Accounting Clerk, whose main responsibility will include providing accounting support to accounting supervisors and other managers within the department. In this role, you will be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), and general data entry. This is a short-term contract / temporary to hire position located in the South Pasadena, California area.

How you will make an impact

• Companywide accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
• Help Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
• Contribute to Accounts Receivable: help with collection of past due balance, process daily invoices/credit, and apply cash receipt
• Publish financial information to journals and ledgers
• Rectify discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
• Organize documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes
• Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a number of sources
• AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Familiar with Spreadsheet and ERP system
• Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
• Proven knowledge of month end closings
• Microsoft Excel experience
• Month end closings experience highly desired
• Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
• Strong familiarity with Debit Credit
• Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
• Experience with high volume data entry
