We have an excellent opportunity on our Operations Team for an ACH Processing Support Specialist!

The ACH Processing Support Specialist is responsible for a variety of duties tied to ACH processes and services. Responsibilities include processing and transmitting ACH items, resolving disputes, interpreting associated rules and regulations to manage risk for the credit union, and ensuring processes are easy for members and staff. The ACH Processing Support Specialist serves as the subject matter expert in this area for the organization and provides accurate, efficient, and timely support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, processes, and transmits incoming and outgoing ACH items, return files, and exceptions in accordance with service and regulatory timelines, NACHA and other rules and regulations.
  • Monitors activity and reports. Responds to disputes, unauthorized transactions, reclamations, problems, and other discrepancies.
  • Researches and resolves simple and complex errors and issues. Ensures timely communication is provided and includes appropriate parties.
  • Helps identify and recommend process and content updates.
  • Acts as department’s point of contact for ACH vendors, other financial institutions, and internal departments.
  • Researches and ensures timely reconciliation and clearing of outstanding items in assigned general ledger accounts, balancing files or reported by members.
  • Provides data entry in multiple software applications for back-office fulfillment of service requests. Fulfills a variety of member-service requests received from other departments through various systems and delivery channels. Reconciles data as needed.
  • Assists with product and system testing for a variety of strategic credit union initiatives and department projects tied to ACH services.
  • Assists employees, members through Help Desk support using exceptional, member focused service skills to uncover needs, establish facts; uses information and resources available to make informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Identifies and promptly communicates possible system or process issues.
  • Reviews, analyzes, reconciles, and processes multiple reports according to various schedules. Evaluates reports and documents for quality, anomalies, and process improvements.
  • Reviews and prepares reports for quality assurance, general ledger reconciliation, account research, and other similar needs.
  • Performs simple and complex account research and account maintenance tasks accurately. Determines how to correct errors and completes appropriate correction.
  • Meets annual certification, regulation, and other training requirements and maintains a thorough knowledge of Advantis’ operational policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Must-haves:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a financial institution with a minimum of 1 year in an operational role.
  • Experience with ACH processing required.
  • Excellent social skills; strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent service and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled at uncovering needs, understanding, and defining a problem, collecting information, establishing facts, and making valid recommendations.
  • Ability to evaluate reports and documents for quality and anomalies.
  • Solid knowledge of general ledger reconciliation, and debit and credit.
  • Excellent organization, planning and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in use of personal computer, particularly word processing and spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Present a professional, business-like appearance and manner.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work between the hours of 8 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., may include rotating Saturdays.
  • Flexibility to deal with unexpected events and attend meetings or events that may occur outside regularly scheduled work hours.

Nice-to-haves:

  • NACHA and AAP or APRP certification desired.
  • ODFI and RDFI experience preferred.
