We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Activity Assistant to join our team at the Carlton Senior Living. If you are a creative, energetic person, we want you to help enrich the lives of our residents. In this position, you will help plan, organize, and implement a comprehensive activities program; so creativity and sensitivity are key elements of this position, and may take precedence over previous experience.
Essential Duties and responsibilities:

- Coordinate and plan engaging activities for residents
- Build trusting, professional relationships with patients, families, and care partners
- Maintain a professional demeanor while facilitating activities as scheduled on calendar
- Engage with residents in both small and larger group activities
- Assess individual resident interests and convey them to the Activities Director
- Have a willingness to assist residents with their personal preferences for daily activities
- Capable of collaborating with other departments to conduct meaningful resident engagement
- Provide engaging and personalized one-on-one time with residents
- Aide with documentation of assessments, participation records, and other information as required by the Activities Director
- Assist in creation of community flyers and event postings
- Rally residents to activities to ensure maximum engagement
- Maintain an upbeat and positive attitude while leading and assisting with activities
- Ability to empathize and attend to resident concerns.
- Report any accidents, injuries or violations of company safety rules.
- Meet all training requirements within the first 30 days of employment.
- Follow standard precautions and practice all precautionary measures related to contagious disease and infections.
- Wear appropriate clothing and shoes for your job.

- Requires patience in working with Senior Residents in the range of 60-100 plus years of age.

- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Interact well with our Carlton Family – residents, family members, all staff members, future residents.
- Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out written or oral instructions.
- Education and Experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent experience.
- 1 year of experience running group activities is preferred, but not required
- According to Title 22 requirements, employee must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Certificates, License, Registration
- Current First Aid Certification (obtained through community)
- DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance must be completed prior to working in community (obtained through community)
- Health screening and negative TB test, must be less than six (6) months old. (obtained through community)
