Description of Work:

The primary purpose of these positions is to provide extensive operational, logistical and administrative support to the Regional Offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing a positive customer service experience for both internal and external customers.
  • Present ideas clearly and effectively in written form.
  • Possess knowledge of program policies and procedural aspects of the program to provide detailed administrative support to staff.
  • Processing of outgoing and incoming correspondence via normal and expedited processing is required.
  • Specific knowledge and application of accounting rules and guidelines to appropriately process incoming cash and checks.
  • Providing team back-up in providing administrative coverage to other divisions and programs in the Regional Office.

The Division of Environmental Assistance and Customer Service (DEACS):
The Division of Environmental Assistance and Customer Service (DEACS) leads NCDEQ's
responsiveness to our customers. Through its non-regulatory technical services, DEACS helps its customers navigate regulatory and permitting challenges, improve environmental performance through sustainable practices and recognition programs, promote recycling material management programs and expand recycling infrastructure creating economic growth.

Recruitment Range:
$31,200 - $34,776

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess
ALL of the following:

  • Documented work experience compiling or creating flyers, memos, letters, spreadsheets and/or data.
  • Demonstrated work experience in processing mail, ordering office supplies, answering telephones, scheduling meetings and/or other administrative support work.
  • Demonstrated work experience in processing payments or expenditures and/or reviewing or auditing financial/budget information.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
