Essential duties

  • Clerical Duties: Updates patient demographic and financial information per policy; pep & process records; prints NCIR records; completes reminder calls; makes appointments; process Release of Information; receives and processes labs and outside records; fax or send records as indicated; performs Avatar and Blue E duties; Provide glucola at front desk per order.
  • Assigned follow-up: Clerical team members will be assigned specific tasks by supervisor to assure that contract addenda requirements and clerical specific needs are met; Completes other duties and tasks as needed which could include courier, work at different sites, patient navigation, patient screening, etc.
  • Referrals: verify pre-authorization process, make appointments for needed services as per orders, contact patient/parents via phone or mail to advise of appointment and document in patient record per policy; logs appoints and completes follow-up to assure appointments are kept.
  • Triage: Answers patient calls, creates triage note in the Electronic Medical Record; communicates to the triage team; communicates via user message or verbally; uses triage paper form when computer is not available.
  • Collection of Funds: collects co-pays and payments in clinic; ensures reconciliation of payments and cash drawer; Adheres to county policies governing cash drawers and credit card payments. As needed, assist in preparedness and emergency response activities in situations that threaten the public’s health (i.e. disease out breaks, natural disasters); Education: Participates in yearly competence activities for PHS Division staff. Participates in in-service, trainings and meetings . Complet
  • Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement; Participates in program audits as assigned. Collaborates and communicates with co-workers, medical providers, supervisor, PHS Management, and other departments to ensure best practices. Provides input and feedback to the supervisor regarding clerical operatons. Attends REVAMP meeting when assigned.
  • Disaster Response: Assists the community during emergencies such as natural disasters or bio-terrorism events by delivering services in the field as needed. Participates in staffing emergency shelter to assure community safety. Assists the community with COVID Vaccination sites, and any COVID related activities.
  • Carryout Performance Management (PM) roles and responsibilities, including identifying and communicating performance improvement opportunities and adjusting performance and practice to achieve established PM goals.

Minimum qualifications

Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalency AND a minimum of two (2) years full time clerical experience. Candidates must be experienced in the use of general office equipment, calculators, and computerized data entry devices. Current State of North Carolina vehicle operator’s license. The candidate selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.29 - $20.60 per hour
