PSC is seeking a driven individual who can help with administrative tasks in our Chattanooga office.
Given our persistent outside sales staff, large product offering, and stock material, PSC has a high volume of transactions that take place everyday. Every transaction is different, and requires steps from setting-up a customer in our system to billing a customer after a project is completely finished, and includes every step in between. It is our administrative staff’s responsibility to stay organized throughout this process. At PSC, our administrative staff also handles documenting and tracking paperwork concerning our employees and equipment (i.e., vehicle mileage, vacation schedules), and serves as the friendly faces and voices that often times are the first points of contact for our customers.
Successful candidates will need to showcase excellent attention to detail, possess strong communication skills (verbal and written), be able to multi-task, have a friendly personality, and be willing to learn about our business and the processes that keep us efficient everyday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gain a baseline understanding of the storage and material handling equipment industry, and the high-level points of the product offering that PSC distributes
- Perform general administrative tasks within the office, including but not limited to: answering phones, sorting mail, filing paperwork, ordering company apparel, and tidying-up spaces
- Keep track of employee and equipment paperwork, including but not limited to: mileage for vehicles and vacation schedules
- Assist in the order management process, including but not limited to: performing credit checks, adding orders to our scheduling tool, verifying payables match purchase orders, and following up with purchase orders
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous administrative experience
- Strong professional communication skills and attention to detail
- Experience with handling multiple responsibilities at one time
- Willingness to learn and help refine processes and procedures
- Effective at prioritizing tasks and driving them to completion
- Experience with reporting to management on ongoing efforts
- Baseline accounting practices and familiarity with receivables and payables is preferred
- Microsoft office experience is preferred
