Services to Aid Families (SAF) offers continuous recruitment and an extensive training opportunity for individuals who are looking to work on an as needed and/or a pre-scheduled basis to assist with the general supervision of the S.A.F. House in areas such as leisure time activities, meal preparation, general maintenance of the home and cleaning. Hours frequently include weekends and holidays.
S.A.F. Substitute Staff act as a positive role model for adults and children, provide emotional support within the guidelines of program regulations and respond to the Abuse and Assault Hotline and Sexual Assault Beeper. Additionally, Substitute Staff supervise preparation of meals, assist with housekeeping, childcare and maintenance of the house, provide First Aid and monitor medications when necessary. Selected staff must have the ability and desire to relate well with victims of violence and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Minimum qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent and related experience. In order to be hired for this position, candidates must have a valid New York State Driver's License with a good driving record and be able to provide their own transportation to the house.
