Amentum is hiring an Aircraft Mechanic I Electrician to join our team in Elizabeth City, NC.

Position Responsibilities Include:

Troubleshoot malfunctions, repair, and modify, aircraft electrical and electrical components.

Reading and interpreting technical maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical orders, blueprints, schematics, harness layout drawings, engineering data, and other specifications, to determine feasibility and method of installing, repairing, or replacing, malfunctions or damaged aircraft components and wiring.

Skilled in the operation of common electrical test devices, such as multi-meters, bridges, voltmeters, ammeters, watt-meters, meggers, and specialty devised test sets to perform basic checks for continuity, resistance, voltage, opens, insulation breakdown, grounds, or malfunctioning switches and relays.

Experience in performing routine disassembly, repair, modification, assembly, testing, installation and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and accessories, such as flight control, fire detection, instrumentation, power control, fuel quantity, power generation and distribution, and utilities of wiring harnesses.

Perform functional checks on existing and newly installed aircraft electrical systems, equipment, wiring, and cables, to check continuity, resistance, amperage, and insulation breakdown with meters, bridges, meggers, and specialized test sets.

Correct discrepancies by removal, repair, or replacement, of defective or deleted circuits, wires, connectors, control units, plugs, switches, circuit breakers, diodes, resistors, capacitors, relays, and other parts of aircraft electrical systems.

Examine and prepare components and wiring to locate defects; shall perform repairs on aircraft electrical systems; shall identify, address, and take steps to resolve, current, emergent, and projected, electrical anomalies associated with wire harness installation, and report other discrepancies as identified to the COR to ensure USCG managers are apprised of related risks, impacts, and potential solutions.

• All work is subject to USCG QA review to confirm process adherence and completion quality for compliance with At least two (2) years of experience in electrical aircraft maintenance or possess an aviation technical school certification or degree in an Aviation Electrical discipline.
• Knowledge, skill, and ability, to follow appropriate safety procedures common to the trade.
• Knowledge of general aircraft electrical and maintenance hazardous materials (such as solder, flux, and isopropyl alcohol) and hazardous wastes procedures is necessary, including the proper fitting and usage of protective gear and completion of related training.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Skilled in removing deleted and defective circuits and parts, installing new or replacement electrical components, instruments, accessories, and equipment, in the electrical control, power, indicating, warning, actuating, lighting, utility, and related systems.
